Freshman Orientation

New friends, new experiences

Freshman Orientation is an all-inclusive experience designed to help support your transition to Humboldt State and show you what it means to be a member of our Lumberjack community.

You’ll learn how to navigate HSU’s online technologies in order to register for classes, and what it means to be an academically successful student. You'll also connect with faculty and students before school starts and and learn about how Humboldt State can best support you in your time here.

Deadline to sign up for mandatory orientation is June 30th.

By signing up, you are reserving your spot at HSU, for both parts of Freshman Orientation.

Freshman Orientation takes place in two parts:

Online Registration Tutorial

This online course will introduce you to the requirements for your degree, and teach you how to navigate the online technologies and campus resources at HSU.

For online registration tutorial dates, check your email or see the bottom of this page for the GREEN or GOLD schedule track links based on your major.

After you complete the tutorial, you'll be able to register for your first semester of classes.

Virtual Orientation Program

The week before classes begin, you'll have the opportunity to get connected to campus resources that will help you succeed.

For dates and more information, see the GREEN or GOLD schedule tracks below based on your major.
