Tour the Blue Lake Rancheria microgrid which integrates a solar array and battery storage which allows the Blue Lake Rancheria to operate in tandem with or islanded from the main utility grid.

Open Boathouse

Meet the Rowing Team, check out the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center (921 Waterfront Dr, Eureka, CA 95501), and learn to use the Rowing Machine with the NCAA D2 Cal Poly Humboldt Women's and Men's Rowing Crew Team! Talk to the team and coaches to see what it takes (you do not have to know how to row!). You will get a tour of the rowing facilities and the boathouse where Outdoor Adventures rentals are conducted. We will also teach you to row on rowing machines and have some fun competition!

A bus will bring students fromarry Griffith Hall to the Humbodlt Bay Aquatic Center every 30 minuties, but you are welcome to drive yourself.

Big Lagoon Kayak Tour

($30 fee for Cal Poly Students, Ages 18+)

Join us for a fun-in-the-sun day on Big Lagoon! In this paddle outing, we will be kayaking around the country's biggest coastal lagoon system. We'll see wildlife, learn basic paddle strokes, and bond together for a wonderful flat-water paddle. Our guides are equipped to give you loads of historical, cultural, and ecological interpretation knowledge of some of the most unique aspects of Humboldt County.

No experience? No worries! Trained guides will provide students and guests with all the necessary equipment and basic skills needed.

Program Fee Includes: high quality on-land and on-water flat water kayak instruction, hard gear (kayak and paddle), soft gear (PFD, wetsuit, booties, splash jacket), and lots of interpretive information.
